Description of this Poster Le Marginal
“Le Marginal” is a 1983 French crime drama film directed by Jacques Deray. The film stars Jean-Paul Belmondo as Philippe Jordan, a veteran French police officer tasked with combating drug traffickers in France.
The story begins with Jordan and his French police team arresting two drug traffickers. However, he soon discovers that one of the traffickers is a high-level informant for the drug network and is released by the judicial authorities.
Jordan then decides to take matters into his own hands and begins an undercover investigation to dismantle the drug network. He poses as a criminal and makes contact with members of the network. As the investigation progresses, he uncovers evidence linking French politicians to drug traffickers.
Tension mounts when the leader of the network discovers Jordan’s true identity. He then sends his men to kill him. Jordan manages to escape the assassination attempt and continues his investigation. He eventually arrests all the members of the drug network and the politicians involved, using evidence he had collected throughout his investigation.
The film is a mix of action, drama, and suspense. Belmondo delivers a breathtaking performance as a tough, lone cop, ready to do anything to dismantle the drug network. The film’s score, composed by Ennio Morricone, adds to the film’s dark and suspenseful atmosphere.
“Le Marginal” is a classic of French cinema, which was a great success upon its theatrical release. It is considered one of the best films of Jacques Deray and Jean-Paul Belmondo, and remains a staple of the detective genre.
