Meaning of this Vintage Lu Advertising Sign
Originating from 1897, this vintage metal sign features the famous mascot of Lu: the Little Schoolboy. His attire (beret and cape) is a very illustrative example of the typical outfit of a schoolboy at the beginning of the 20th century. Also note the “Lefèvre-Utile” representing the name of the founders of the brand (hence the initials LU). In the background, the Little Schoolboy tenderly savors the famous petit beurre from Nantes.
